Fantastic Four

i was excited for this movie. then the reviews came in and they were terrible. i read some of them. they said the film had a horror movie tone and had a cronenberg like body horror vibe to it. if this was true then a) i would love the film and b) this is why it got bad reviews (horror usually does). so i went to see it. and even though it started out really good it never lived up to it's promise and was ultimately a let down and a bad film. there was no horror element and the body horror aspect was pretty much non existent. instead we get a cool first 20 minutes, then a generic hour of set up... read more

i think this plays better for someone who is not a comics fan. it is quite harmless and watchable as a simple sf movie. i understand that it fails badly as a fantastic four movie, and i found some of it obvious in the weak, halting characterization. the final confrontation was boring, endless, and cinematographically mediocre to a sophomoric degree. it might have been better as an original movie, not that there was anything original about it at all; it was just dragged down by the ff connection, and the promises it couldn't fulfill. then again, the fantastic four franchise was the reason it... read more

Why did they bother trying to rehash a movie from only 10 years ago,I understand a lot of movie studios are doing this lately but maybe not so close to the original, its still practically the same generation so that excuse is out the window. Anyway to this movie well its crap, firstly the four characters lack any sort of chemistry and the special effects are lame. This movie was flopped badly and I understand they are doing a second one, well if that's so then a lot would need changing to make it a hit. Avoid this like the plague. read more
